POST ANNAPOLIS OBSERVATIONS FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK

Palestinian police answerable to Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas have been terrorizing non-conformist Palestinian journalists throughout the West Bank in a manner unprecedented since the creation of the PA following the Oslo Accords in 1993.

Assaults on journalists and cameramen increased dramatically recently especially in the aftermath of the American-hosted peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland.

"A matter of revenge": Israel denying medical treatment to Gaza

"We had been waiting for an urgent referral to an outside hospital for the past six days, until he died today," said Dr. Ismail Yassin Monday, in response to the death of one more patient at the Gaza Children's Hospital.

Tamer al-Yazji, a 12-year-old chicken pox patient, died on Monday on his hospital bed after his referral to an Israeli hospital had been delayed.

Ethnic cleansing, one sick Palestinian child at a time.

The folks in the Israeli government who thought up the concept of denying children treatment by delaying it until the kids die must be very proud of themselves.

Palestinian dies of kidney failure due to Gaza siege

A Palestinian citizen suffering kidney failure has died on Friday in Jabalia to the north of the Gaza Strip after being blocked from travel abroad for treatment by the IOF troops' tight siege.

Medical sources told PIC correspondent that Jamil Hamad, 49, a father of seven children, could not have his dialysis after 23 of those machines in the Strip were out of order out of a total of 66 ones found in the Strip.

Ethnic cleansing by denying and/or delaying treatment of desperately ill Palestinians is completely despicable.

The Israeli government has elevated their well-developed" black art" of collective punishment to utterly new heights with this kind of behavior.

Israeli Siege of Gaza Resulting in Huge Humanitarian Crisis

Israeli human rights group, Gisha, projected that electricity cuts would "cause certain and serious harm to the health and well-being of Gaza residents." Sari Bashi, Executive Director of Gisha, said there was "no physical way to reduce electricity supplies to Gaza without forcing power outages for hospitals, clinics, water wells, sewage treatment plants and schools."

Israel's siege is not only creating a living Hell for the 1.4 million living in the Gaza Strip: the dead are also affected. In addition to the very vital food and medical supplies which Israel is preventing from entering Gaza, cement and building materials are also being denied entry. As a result, those who die, an increasing number of who are killed by invading Israeli forces or border closures, will have no burial place. Without the cement for graves, it isn't possible to adequately construct gravesites.

The name of the country Israel is becoming synonymous with the phrase "collective punishment".

This cannot be how thinking Israelis want their country to be perceived.

An excursion through the West Bank is a trip to disbelief

When you witness it, you are left in disbelief; how can it be happening? But it is occurring daily; what seems to be purposeful hindrances to West Bank residents that reduce Palestinians, who have meager demands and normal needs, to total despair and deprivation.

PA-Israeli document liquidating RoR unveiled

The Hebrew Haaretz newspaper has unveiled in its late edition on Monday a "serious" PA-Israeli document that aims at liquidating the right of return of millions of Palestinian refugees to their homeland in the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands.

According to the paper, an Israeli group close to Israeli premier Ehud Olmert along with a Palestinian team associated with PA chief Mahmoud Abbas had negotiated the possibility of replacing the RoR with some economic projects that could cost 90 billion dollars.

The document, the paper added, was an initial semi-official attempt to dismantle the barrier of the RoR and to transform it into economic benefits that could help reaching practical solutions to the issue.

Tragedy and Travesty at Annapolis

November 27 at Annapolis kicks off the latest Israeli-Palestinian Middle East peace process round that may be an historic first. It's the first time in memory the legitimate government of one side is excluded, and that alone dooms it. Like previous rounds, it's more pretense than peace, and as Jonathan Steele puts it in his November 16 Guardian column "The Palestinian path to peace does not go via Annapolis....so what do....Palestinians do next....In their decades-long bid for justice, they have tried everything:" armed struggle to compromise, but nothing works and the reason is simple. Their sincerity isn't matched by Israel, the West, other Arab states and the US most of all with all the muscle in its hands to push or constrain Israelis to be serious and fair. That's the problem. How can one side negotiate in good faith without a willing partner.

THE THREE STOOGES AT ANNAPOLIS...

Rice: "No one believes failure is an option" No one?? How's about EVERYONE??? Who are they trying to kid????

The Annapolis illusion

"The mountain went into labor, then it gave birth to a rat ," so says the famous Arab proverb. This adage is likely to caricature the outcome of the upcoming American-sponsored "peace conference," slated to take place on 27 November, in Annapolis , Maryland .

Forecasting the failure of the Annapolis meeting is more than speculation. It is a realistic assessment of an event that is not intended to be successful, even if the declared desire suggests otherwise.

If Annapolis implodes, Secretary Rice will very probably wind up taking most of the blame for its failure (something current Israeli leaders would love to see happen).

Israel is hopeful that such a failure would push Bush again into the orbit of the carnage-prone Cheney's foreign policy agendas, which dovetail rather nicely with Israel's foreign policy agendas.

Jerusalem’s Israeli mayor announces plan for annexation of East Jerusalem

The Israeli mayor of Jerusalem (the city has two mayors: one Israeli, one Palestinian) Uri Lupolianski announced Wednesday that his municipal government would engage in a 'development plan’ for East Jerusalem, a plan which Palestinian residents of Jerusalem claim is actually annexation of Palestinian land for Israel.

Lupolianski presented the plan at a City Hall news conference Wednesday, stating that it is a 'way to keep Jerusalem united’. His statement conveniently left out the fact that Jerusalem is, in fact, a city under Israeli military occupation since 1967.

Smooth move, and so nicely timed; just barely a week before the Annapolis conference!

Syria reportedly to skip summit, as Haniyeh calls meet 'stillborn' -

"Syria has decided not to attend the Annapolis conference next week, because the issue of the Golan Heights is not mentioned on the agenda of the meeting," Army Radio quoted the Arabic-language publication as saying.

This highly touted "meeting/conference/symposium" - whatever you want to call it - is about to explode in this administration's face like a bad trick cigar.

Neither Abbas nor Olmert really have the strength of position, nor the support of their people, to achieve anything meaningful, if this even if this event goes forward.

Bahraini parliament calls to boycott Israel

Israeli military announces readiness to invade Gaza

The preparations for a mass invasion of Gaza are complete, said an Israeli source on Thursday. Israeli officials said the thousands of troops and dozens of tanks currently stationed on the Gaza border are not going to launch an invasion unless Palestinian resistance factions fire homemade shells across the border first.

The Israeli daily newspaper Maariv reported that the chances of a major Israeli incursion into the Gaza Strip have increased now the Annapolis conference is over.

"...chances of a major Israeli incursion into the Gaza Strip have increased now the Annapolis conference is over."

Increased, my astrolabe!

Israeli officials have been telegraphing that once Annapolis was out of the way, there would be a major military incursion into Gaza.

And watch for that right-on-cue lobbing of homemade shells - allegedly fired by Palestinian resistance factions - across the border to happen very, very soon as the justification for such an invasion.

What we're really fighting for in the ME...Map of the ME Israel wants to draw using American Blood

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Take a good look at this map, because if Israel and her rabid backers keep getting their way, American kids will be fighting and dying for decades to come in the ME... all for the glory of Israel.

We're already in Iraq. We're raising hell in Lebanon. Syria was recently bombed by Israel, most likely with U.S. help.

We're threatening to nuke Iran... not for our protection, but because Israel thinks they might be a threat.

There are rumblings coming out of Tel Aviv about Egypt not being aggressive enough in helping Israel starve Palestine.

Turkey has been getting attacked by Kurdish guerillas, who have been trained by MOSSAD commandos, all with our blessing.

Starting to see a pattern develop here?

The Judaization of East Jerusalem

Then there is the little-noticed news that the Israeli Parliament has given preliminary approval to a bill, in violation of international law and United Nations resolutions, which would seize East Jerusalem as a permanent part of Israel. It is thus not surprising that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s belated efforts to corral reluctant world diplomats to an increasingly downgraded meeting in Annapolis are rapidly becoming mission impossible.

U.S. Customs delays ambulance at border

An ambulance rushing a heart attack victim to Detroit from a Windsor hospital ill-equipped to perform life-saving surgery was stopped for secondary inspection Monday by U.S. Customs, despite the fact it carried a man fighting for his life.

Palestinian child dies as result of Israeli imposed santions

A nine-year old Palestinian boy died in Gaza city after Israeli military has rejected calls for him to travel for treatment, Palestinian hospital sources said on Monday.

The killing Palestinian children by denying them medical treatment has to rank as an absolutely new moral low for this Israeli government.

This kid was only 9 years old.

And by punishing children in this unconscionably evil way, by denying care, they are punishing that kid's entire family.

Israeli Child Killers: Documentary Proof

"Ali Murad Abu Shaweesh was 12 when Israeli soldiers shot him in the back. Ali was killed on the same day in June, 2001 that Sharon refused to let the Israeli foreign minister, Shimon Peres, meet with Yasir Arafat, yet his death also went unnoticed by American television news. But not entirely unnoticed, since the Israeli soldiers, who taunted the Palestinian boys over loudspeakers outside the Khan Yunis refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, goading them to come out and throw rocks, did so under the gaze of Chris Hedges, a reporter for the New York Times.

"Children have been shot in other conflicts I have covered--death squads gunned them down in El Salvador and Guatemala, mothers with infants were lined up and massacred in Algeria, and Serb snipers put children in their sights...in Sarajevo--but I have never before watched soldiers entice children like mice into a trap and murder them for sport," Hedges wrote. His account, coolly factual yet full of passionate intensity, was written not for his own paper but for Harper's Magazine, which sent Hedges to Gaza on his vacation." The Nation, March 11, 2002

Israel: IAEA's report 'unacceptable'

"You go back and re-write it so we can order the Americans to kill the Iranians for us!"

(Ahem)

Remember a few days ago I equated Israel with a mental patient who first projects their own crimes onto others then when the facts contradict their delusions becomes paranoid?

Read that first sentence. I rest my case. Israel, as an entire nation, is clinically insane.

And they really DO have nuclear weapons!

CIVIL WAR IN ISRAEL ?? JEW AGAINST JEW ???

Can Israel survive without war, without enemies? What would happen if peace actually was declared between the Israelis and the Palestinians? What would hate groups outside the borders of Israel do to continue making big buck$ selling anti-Semitism to the masses?

Israeli women soldiers recount army trauma in film

The six Israeli women who feature in the documentary "To See If I'm Smiling" each wrestle with memories of their compulsory military service that they would rather erase.

But after years of trying to bury the past, they have spoken out in a film that explores the darker side of Israel's 40-year-old occupation of the Palestinian territories and examines its impact on a generation of young men and women.

Although female soldiers are kept out of the front line, Israel is one of the only countries to enforce military service for women. Yarom aims to highlight the fragility of some girl soldiers -- many still in their teens when they start their two year army stint -- and the violence into which they are thrust.

Boosting US army ranks 'not enough'

SWELLING the ranks of the US Army to 547,000 troops by 2010 will probably not be enough to meet its needs, the army chief of staff George Casey said today.

"I believe that the 540,000 we're building here is a good milestone. I believe it is probably not big enough," he told US legislators.

The next draft won't only be coming for America's suns: it will be coming for America's daughters as well.

One of the forms of this legislation in committee right now stipulates that no American can go on to pursue their education without having completed their "national service".

Israel won't be included in new genocide probes

The newly formed Genocide Prevention Task Force indicated Tuesday night that it will not be examining whether Israel has committed genocide in the West Bank and Gaza despite earlier statements that it would be addressing the subject.

"Its task is not to determine which situations, past or present, including the West Bank and Gaza, constitute genocide, but to develop policy recommendations that enable the United States to prevent future genocides from occurring," Cohen, along with co-chair Madeleine Albright, said in a statement issued Tuesday night.

"Hey, don't worry, Israel: your existing and on-going genocide against that Palestinians is just fine with us!" - official white horse souse.

This alleged human rights committee has just completely delegitimized itself in the eyes of every thinking person on this planet.
